Three thousand cubic metres of top soil will be transported from Manuka Oval to the National Arboretum Canberra this week.

Trucks will commence transporting recycled top soil today from Manuka Oval for use at the Arboretum, said Jason Brown, General Manager, National Arboretum Canberra.

ACT Policing has arrested a 21-year-old man of no fixed abode in relation to an aggravated robbery in Holt on Saturday (July 13).

About 11am the alleged offender entered the IGA store in Holt armed with a knife. He threatened staff, demanding cash and cigarettes.

ACT Policing is investigating the death of a 30-year-old Lyneham man while he was in custody at the Alexander Maconochie Centre in Hume.

Around 7.30pm yesterday (July 16) police were called to the centre after a report that a detainee was found deceased by ACT Corrective Services officers within the centre.
